A meeting regarding the foundation of a CKCS Club in Wales was held in Bridgend in June 1981. Several of the originally elected Committee at that meeting remain on our Committee in a variety of roles, ensuring continuity of the original ideals of the club's founders.

In March 1982, the Kennel Club approved the registration of our club. Our first Open Show was held in Chepstow in November of that year with Mrs Paula Stark as judge. Three years later, the first Championship Show was held and is now a regular annual event held each November.

Our Club has over 200 members drawn not only from South and West Wales but also from neighbouring English counties and further afield. Membership is open to anyone interested in our lovely breed.

From time to time seminars are organised on a variety of topics from movement and confirmation to general dog care.

We run a rescue service manned by volunteers who collect dogs from various backgrounds and rehome them in suitable new homes.

Details of puppies for sale, bred by club members, are advertised on our puppy register.
